I strive for win-win outcomes. Shortly after becoming your Mayor, I helped bring the Sausalito Yacht Harbor and the City of Sausalito to the negotiating table to increase parking availability downtown.
On Tuesday, the City Council approved an agreement to provide 47 new parking spaces in the Yacht Harbor lot to use next year.
This is a WIN for the City’s budget with new projected parking ticket revenue of more than $90,000.
This is a WIN for residents and simple sensibility: the Yacht Harbor lot, which often sat virtually empty, will now serve a useful purpose for the common good.
And, this is a WIN for merchants who say this is the first time in decades that the amount of parking available for their customers has increased.
My problem-solving business approach helped make this happen. This is part of why I’ve been endorsed by: Congressman Jared Huffman, Assemblyman Damon Connolly, Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters, and 10 former Sausalito Mayors and Councilmembers.
